Tree Pruning (Crown Thin)
A very good technique to improve the amount of light filtering the crown. This reduces the density of a tree by removing a proportion of the crown without affecting the overall shape. This is useful for limiting the shade cast by a tree or to reduce wind sway. Combined with a crown lift this is a very effective method and causes less damage to the tree than a crown reduction.
Sycamore Crown Thin – before and after: The customer loved the tree but wanted more light to percolate through the crown. We reduced the density and diameter of the crown to achieve this.
